Getting driver's license in Korea is actually pretty simple.
The first thing you need to is register at one of the Driver's License Examination Center in your area.
The exam consists of two parts; a written exam and an actual road test.
The written parts consist of 50 multiple choice questions.
Because written tests are all computer-based, you will get the result the same day.

If you passed the written test, you will be eligible to take the road test.
But you have to prove that you are familiar with technical aspects of operating a vehicle first on the Center's driving course.
The road test takes place on actual roads and you have to drive a vehicle assinged by the Center.
Overall, it is not that difficult but don't forget to fasten your seatbelts!

Cying.. Tears

자기계발/Essay 2008. 10. 31. 00:09
I don't cry much. Of course, when I was really young, crying was not a big deal. But as one gets older, crying becomes a big deal. I was never a crybaby. I mean, I nver cried more than other kids. But I wasn't  cold-heated either.

The last time I really cried - I mean I wept - was when I saw the Korean movie "Jibeuro". I was bawling when I saw that movie. I thought of my grandmother who had passed away a few years before, and I missed her really badly. She was such a giving person.

I don't normally go and watch tearjerkers. I preper a good comedy or an action film. But once in a while, I'll see a movie that pulls on the heartstrings and makes me tear up.

Some actors are good at making themselves cry. For some actors It comes easier than other. Some actors force themselves to keep their eyes open, and then their tears start welling up. I wonder if they even use cut onions?

Pain..

자기계발/Essay 2008. 10. 30. 23:53

There is a phrase "No pain, No gain". It's used a lot by coaches, teachers and parents.
The idea is that good things don't come easily. We have to work for them.
The more we invest, the bigger the reward. So pain can be mental or physical.

Sometimes, when we're in a tough or "painful" situation, we can grow from it.
But sometimes, the pain dosen't go away, and it becomes a burden. It weighs us down. Then, too much pain makes us negative. It makes us dark.

I was running around yesterday and sprained my ankle. I'll be better in a few days.
I have done this before. I think it's a curse of tall person. But it also gives me a chance to reflect on the value of health and times without pain.

I know someone who has migraine headaches all the time. That person unable to function when he is in pain. That would be hell. Compared to him, I have it good.

Some people have a high threshold of pain. They can handle a lot of pain. It dosen't bother them that much.

But other people can't take the pain. They complain about the slightest injuries. even if It doesn't seem that bad.

I guess that everyone has a different way of handling pain. I'm just glad that, for the most part, my life is pain-free.
